Our members include private and public language learning companies, public institutions, public and private universities, level testing and assessment companies, editorials, etc.
- What are the criteria for membership? Although the types of members affiliated with LTA are varied, all entities adhere to several common criteria and pre-requisites. LTA member criteria are as follows:
Experience: Have demonstrated experience and longevity in the sector: Minimum of 5 years experience in the linguistic field.
Trained Professionals: Trainer certification: Employ professionals with national and or international academic accreditation.
Quality: Be able to demonstrate Student / Learner/ User /Client satisfaction
Results: Be able to demonstrate Student / Learner / User progress with respect to linguistic training results
Commitment to collaboration: Share the philosophy that collaboration means mutual benefit through sharing information, talent, tools and resources. Members may benefit commercially through their affiliation with the LTA, but this benefit must be an indirect consequence of, rather than the principal aim, of their affiliation.

Entities aspiring to become LTA members must participate in an admission process which involves:
1. Description of Entity: submission of a brief written description (less than 1000 words) of the entity. The services and or products it provides, its client or student base, its infrastructure (staff / employee profile).
2. Accreditation: of Trainer certification, quality indicators, and results. Depending on the entity, this data can come from a wide number of sources, and each entity should consult with the LTA before submitting information. In some cases, accreditation may involve a random survey conducted by the LTA of its users, students and clients.
3. Interview. LTA members conduct interviews (in person or virtually) with the entity´s management, staff, students (end-users) and clients. The aim of these interviews is three-fold: Firstly to confirm the entity´s adherence to the LTA member criteria. Secondly to establish how the entity can benefit from LTA collaboration. Thirdly, to explore how the entity can contribute to the LTA in terms of knowledge, talent and resources.
Upon completion of all three steps of the admission process the LTA´s Admissions Committee votes on the inclusion of the entity. Membership renewal is subject to a bi-annual review and the LTA Admissions committee reserves the right to withdraw an entitys collaboration at any time.
- Cost: As the LTA is a non-profit, impartial entity there will only be a small nominal administration fee associated with membership of the Language Training Alliance.
